While the land bridge theory has its detractors, I tend to believe that it is one of the best theories and does help us understand some of the migration around North and South America. From what I have read, I believe that the First Peoples of the Western Hemisphere have been here between 20 000 and 60 000 years. I know it is quite a span of time but we will never know for sure. Part of the reason that there is this great span of time is that the Bering Strait opened and closed a few times over the past 100 000. Geological and archeological evidence supports this idea. But to focus just on your question, there is no fully convincing evidence that humans lived in the Central American ithsmus before 10 000 - 12 000 years ago. So, if one subscribes to the land bridge theory that suggests people entered North America near Alaska and then populated the continents thereafter, people did not migrate that quickly but rather over the course of tens of thousands of years. If the idea that humans populated the Americas from north to south is correct then it is more recent than 12 000 years since hunter-gatherers reached the tip of South America.

Think about it, human beings have been around for 200,000 years but we only reached behavior modernity (i.e. culture, civilization, etc.) around 50,000 years back.....Which means that for 150,000 years we have been hunter-gatherers that have probably very limited to none (assumed) cultural creativity or expressive thought. This is the state that Adam and Eve lived in during their time in Eden, since they didn't possess the "the forbidden knowledge of God" or whatever, and lived off the fruits of the plants. After we achieved behavior modernity we achieved "God-like" knowledge (i.e. civilization, agriculture) it would have been impossible to revert back to a primitive hunter-gatherer (hence, why Adam and Eve were cast out of Eden). As a creation story, perhaps the story of Eden has roots to the point in paleontology in which humans have achieved behavior modernity.

I have cata, and trying to farm in Twilight or deepholm is hit or miss most of the time. There's a guy who used to be in my guild that would get like 3 nodes a minute. How did he get that much? The only tip I've ever heard was to zoom your map all the way out and then zoom in 2 clicks. And a lot of times when I'm farming a node won't pop up on my gatherer map until after I've passed it. Strikes me that the genesis of these mono/poly theistic religious dogma has come from when man went from a hunter gatherer to an urbanized environment. I feel as though, without technological advances, we would be smaller, more compact, and there would be more food / water available for everyone. If today's civilization collapsed, even with all of our technology, wouldn't we have a harder tie then our hunter / gatherer roots?

Here is my scenario. I know this guy just as an acquaintance, he is my kitties veterinarian and I only see him every once and a while. Every time I see him he touches me. I'm about to get a new dog, and I've been making a LOT of preparations before I bring her home. The new dog (a 5 1/2 y/o female pug) is really good with kids and other animals, so I can't see having more than a few minor problems with her. My cat is a 4 y/o male (neutered) stray that I adopted from a family member as a kitten. We've had other cats live with him, and he never once fought, but ever since one ran off and the other died (leaving him alone), he has been more than a little aggressive every time I try to introduce a new pet, even another cat. Other than this, he is a really well behaved cat. I've looked up a lot of articles online on how to introduce a dog to a cat, but I can't find anything that covers what to do if your CAT is the aggressive one. Pugs are playful dogs, and I'm worried that my new dog might get ripped to shreds if she tries to play with my kitty!

How do i stop my kitten from climbing curtains?

My kitten is so mean! If she's not attacking me, she's bouncing off the walls. One problem she has that really gets under my skin is her curtain climbing. I CAN'T GET TO SLEEP?

I haven't been able to get to sleep past like 1 these past few nights, but once I fall asleep I'm out like a light. I have a camp next week and I want to get enough sleep. Ok, im not an expert, but over the course of the last month or so I leveled my mage from 1to 85, and I found that dungeons level you up waaay faster than quests. If you wanted to get up to high levels quickly I would recommend playing a druid, this is because they can que in the dungeon finder as both a tank and healer, making your wait for a group about 10 seconds instead of 10 minutes. Of course you would need to stick with tank or healer until you got your dual spec ability and could get both. Going with the Feral talent tree would probably be your best bet in the earlier levels just so you can get the dungeon groups super quick and do more difficult quests when you get sick of dungeons and want a break. So yea... thats my 5 cents. Random dungeons are the way to go for lvling nowadays. (they also made lving from 70-80 20% faster, so that rocks)

I think both of my cats got eaten by a coyote?

So i have a cat name Jethro (or used to) now Jethro was completely beautiful, rare looking cat, really just great. This cat was very friendly and playful. Okay, so I've been friends with this girl since about 2nd grade and recently we've been hanging out about every weekend when we can because she lives 30 minutes away. Why does my female cat keep peeing everywhere!?

I'm starting to go crazy! My female cat has been peeing everywhere for the past year. I have taken her to the vet at least 5 times in the past year for this. At one vets place, he checked her urine two different times, and both times said she had a UTI. I gave her the meds he gave to me, and she didn't get any better! The two other times i took her to the same vet, he didn't even check her! He gave her the same diagnosis and same meds, both times she didn't get better. I decided that maybe this vet didn't know what he was doing, and took her to a different place. They couldn't check her urine there because her bladder was empty, they checked many different things and said she was healthy, just a little too plump and needed to go on a diet. He also said that he thinks she has a urinary disease and gave her special canned kitty food to help with it. It did not help her! It also seems like she is in heat constantly, she meows all hours of the night, and I cannot sleep. She pees on anything!!! If my pillow falls onto the floor in the middle of the night, she pees on it. My parents wont allow her upstairs at all because of this problem. I have her in my room at all times, her cat box is available to her 24/7 (i have my own bathroom in my room and the door stays open so she has her cat box, and her food and water available at all times) She never used to be this way. Shes my baby, i don't want to give her away, but after last-night i cant help but to think that's what i need to do. I'm lost. :( I love her so much, and I have tried everything except getting her fixed. My room constantly stinks of cat urine, i feel like I'm cleaning all the time just to get rid of her messes. HELP!!! Would getting her fixed keep her from peeing everywhere? Why my kitties sneeze so much?

my house is clean...they don't have running nose, they seem happy and healthy but sneeze a lot...im wondering if it's the cat litter because the black one just sneezed after pooping...has anyone else had this problem? What do you recommend? What's a good cat litter? Thanks!

If you don't take her to the vet, you won't know. Bleeding from the nose could be trauma or injury to the sinus membranes, sinus bones or to who-knows-what? Only the vet could tell with an exam and possibly an X-ray. Otherwise, you are just taking a chance that she may or may not be O.K. She is quite small and it doesn't take a lot of time for a small kitten to go downhill. She should also be bottle fed at that young age. This is very important to her well-being, but her immediate health is most important.

New kitty and old kitty problems?

People think I'm nuts when I say female cats are just straight bitches! Seriously, I have 13 cats and only 3 of them are female because they drive me flippin nuts! Calicos tend to be the worse too :/ Your older cat won't kill your kitten or even do to much damage, they get over.... It might take MONTHS (I think 6 months is plenty of time). I would switch the rooms the cats are in - put the kitten in the rest of the house and put the older cat in the room the kitten was in. That way she can smell his scent and give it another couple days, maybe a week and then let em out together when you'll be home for a while, but they should be fine... Hissing and batting is normal.

Here is my scenario. I know this guy just as an acquaintance, he is my kitties veterinarian and I only see him every once and a while. Every time I see him he touches me. It's either on the hand, forearm or upper arm sometimes with a squeeze. When I saw him a few months ago he placed both his hands on top of mine and squeezed them, I also just saw him friday and he rubbed my forearm and then squeezed it before I left. Unfortunately I don't see him in a social setting. I'm not so good with the flirting thing and I'm kinda afraid to flirt back (if he is flirting) because I don't want to make a fool of myself. Any other ways I can tell if he could be attracted to me? I don't mind the touching but just wondering if he could be attracted to me. I have friends that go to him and he does NOT touch them. Why extra marital sex is wrong?

If you and your spouse have no problem with an open relationship so be it. I don't think its wrong it just comes down to who you are as a couple. Me personally I couldn't do it. My cat has been electrocuted..what do I do?

I have reasons to believe my cat may have triggered a surge in my power strip. now most of the things on the power strip were off. But I left earlier that day and she was fine. I came home and she is twitching and trying ot back away from everything. Then she will stop and be fine. I have fed her water through a syringe and got her to eat. She even seemed hungry, but I had to feed her a peice at a time. Like she couldnt see it. When I got her today her eye was closed, but with some water I was able to open it. She hasn't walked yet. Just pushed herself backwards, away from things. Even while I try to hold her. I took this kitten to make sure it didn't get put to sleep. I can feed it and shelter it. But I can't afford a doctor for myself let alone my pet. Is there anything I can do for her? Anyone have something similar. I looked at her mouth and tounge and she was fine. No burns... but her ears do seem red a bit. I have no idea and just want to help my poor kitty.

i have 2 friendly cats.a neighbor moved and left behind a siamese mix.we fed him for 3 months and finally caught him and took him in.he loves our other cats and they love him..we are going to keep the new cat,indoor only like our first two.heres the problem.sam the new cat has an appointment to be neutered/get shots this thurs.but he does not like to be handled,and he hisses and is threatening when we try to pick him up.i would like to have proper vet visit for him,but he is a large scary tom and i am afraid my husband and i will get torn up trying to catch him.we had to use a trap to get him inside and i think he will be too smart to fall for that again.his urine does not smell strong,unlike most intact males,and he goes in the box and does not spray.i wonder if he has been fixed already-cant get close enough to find out.we dont mind that he doesnt like being handled.he gets along well with our kitties,and he was not looking too good on the streets.we are glad to give him a home, even if he would rather interact with other cats,not us.he is not aggressive unless u try to pick him up or carry him.he will let himself be petted sometimes.but he does get agrgessive if handled and messed with too much.so,do we try to wrestle him into the carrier thurs morning,put it off awhile,or just not neuter him? i worry that intact males are prone to blockages, however.i am not trying to get out of a vet visit,i just dont want to get hurt,my mom was bit by a cat once and had to go to the hospital it was pretty bad.we could not leave him outside,other cats were beating him up ,he seemed miserably unhappy.except when handled a lot,he seems content and happy at our house and relieved to have fresh food,water and a nice place to live.so-do i try the vet thurs or not? hints or tips for dealing with fearful,semi-feral cats,appreciated...

Help! i think my kitty has a broken tail?

my cat Bucko is a year old and has been very lethargic and not eating very much, hes normally a pretty active cat and he LOVES to eat, i noticed while petting him yesterday that it hurts him when i pet towards the base of his tail, when i felt it it felt like one joint of the tail is very swollen and he gets mad when i touch it. it seems like it is probably broken on that spot, but would that be a reason for him to be lethargic and lose his appetite? also i noticed a few days ago( right around the time he started acting weird) after i let him inside the house after letting him hangout in the backyard for a few hours that his collar was missing...i wonder what happened to him. i know the best thing to do is to take him to a vet but i am a new mother of a 3 month old baby on a very tight budget and really cant afford it, ANY advice on how i can help poor Bucko would be greatly appreciated

10 month old acts like a frisky kitty-cat and swats all the time.....?

she hits when she is happy, when she is mad, all emotions. Its like she's a kitty cat swatting at everything, people, animals, her toys, but it hurts and aggervates everyone! We say "no, that hurts" and everthing else you can think of, we set her down, move her, but its just her frisky personality. Anyne else's baby like this and how did you stop this behavior that is not MEAN but can be perceived as her hitting and being mean. She's usually being very playful but its not a good habit to have.

I just cleaned the kitty litter box (which is in the basement) and I found 4 very very small dark brown worms that were curled in a U. Not IN the box, but about 2-3 feet away from it. Best way to become a commercial pilot?

My fiance wants to be a pilot more than anything. If he can't find a way to become a commercial pilot, then he will try for Air force but we would love any information about flight schools in the United States where you can get a full ride or a lot of scholarships. Flea treatment for cats with leukemia?

I've been noticing that everytime I try to apply Advantage on my cat, she runs away. I apply it a few hours after I give her a bath, and she usually recognizes the sound of the wrapper and hides.
