How To Deal With A Hostage Situation?

well my cat was taken hostage by the neighbors 4 year old daughter, she keeps saying "mr. kitty is MINE!!' i am thinking of breaking in at the middle of the night and taking the cat back, i haven't talked to her parents yet but i know they will just take her side. How can i go through with this, any suggestions?
