Can the modern human live the life of a hunter gatherer human from thousands of years ago?

I was watching some of the episodes of "Aftermath" on Natgeo and wondered if modern humans had enough toughness to live without modern conveniences and luxury. Could you live without cars, cellphones, computers, or any of the other crap modern society throws at us? I'd love to see us go back to tribes and dissolve government rule and restriction.
