History of art in early civilization is the class I'm in and my teacher just really asked me a hard question..?

I think it extremely unlikely that some known site would be the ultimate limit of expanse. They probably were well beyond there, perhaps all the way to the Orkneys. Has every possible cave been explored? How about sites that today are under water? It is said the English Channel was dry during the Paleolithic.
