Would i get in trouble for killing a scrub turkey (australian animal)?

me and my friends are going to go tribal were gonna go camping in a rain forest and live hunter gatherer like the indigenous australians were gonna eat grubs berries and some animals to survive which considering we are in a rainforest there will be lots of scrub turkeys and we may not find many other animals we can eat were going to use only stone age weapons not guns. these animals are protected but they arent endangered and we are going to use as much of the animal as we can and considering the turkeys are pretty big we might only have to kill 1 or 2 out of about a group of ten that can easily reproduce we arent slaughtering them it will be challenging we will have to strategize corner them run around climb up trees and we will need them to survive i mean i know we could bring supplies but then we arent really living hunter gatherer are we and we are going to eat when we NEED to not just whenever we are hungry i wouldnt punish us for doing this but the law is unreasonable id like your opinion if your a aussie a queenslander or know anything about law or animal protection
