Where do people get the strange idea that women didn't work before the 1960's?

Thank you for pointing this out; I think the problem is what they are NOT teaching kids in schools these days, and it's rather frightening. There is an old saying to the effect that "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it". NOT a pleasant prospect.
