My kitty has tapeworms?

I found little white squishy things on my kitty's fur, and when I looked them up I found out that they were tapeworms. He is also due for a dewormer called Pyrantel. The only vet that I can see in the next couple of days (as the others won't be open) gives Strongid-T. Is it the same thing as Pyrantel? And will it get rid of tapeworms?
