Hey parents, at what point did mankind become monogamous?

Mankind is not monogamous. Bin Laden was just killed along with "one of his youngest wives". Up until recently, bigamy was legal in Utah. Monogamy is not evolutionary, as you're question suggests, but rather a social mor� based mostly on religious values. And clearly some religions have less respect for women than others.
